Mykolaiv Aquaport Marina
Known as the “City of Ships” since its foundation, Mykolaiv has historically focused on the naval industry as its main economic driver. In recent years, however, especially during the conflict, the shipbuilding sector has been facing a sharp decline, leading Mykolaiv to conceive new ways of capitalising on its waterfront. Benefiting from a favorable location in proximity to the Black Sea, the city maintains strong ties with its rivers and is ready to build itself back better.
Designed to blend sustainable design with practical functionality, the Aquaport Marina will respect Mykolaiv’s rich shipbuilding heritage while offering recreational spaces and leisure opportunities for both residents and tourists. Key features of the new marina include:
Waterfront Palace: A modern facility that will host the Young Seafarers’ Club, offering spaces for community and educational events focused on marine and environmental education.
Sports and Recreation Facilities: A new sports school offering sailing, swimming, and other maritime activities to promote youth engagement in water sports.
Yacht Club and Boat Station: Facilities that will support nautical activities, including boat rentals and sport fishing, enhancing the maritime lifestyle.
The new Aquaport Marina in Mykolaiv is set to become the centerpiece of the “Deep Blue Transition for Mykolaiv” Programme implemented by the Ukrainian Association of Business Support Centers (UABSC) with support from the European Union and UN Development Programme “Mayors for Economic Growth” initiative, the project underscores international cooperation in rebuilding Ukraine’s urban fabric to support economic recovery.
